How the Epic of water came to be. Part 1

Because of the fire at the academy the exhibition will be closed. So I thought I will do a summary, across a series of post, documenting how my installation came to be. The charcoal biography begun with three selfportraits. I did them during the same week September 2023. Even then the drawings were created in a context, surrounded by patterns and other ideas. Usually they would hang from a string. The most unfinished one in this image is the one I was most unhappy about, so I redrew the face, amongst other things.
