How the Epic of water came to be. Part 2 by maria mpoyi

For my masters solo show I asked myself how I was going to fill a whole room. My first thought was that I wanted to change the room, make it into a sea, pull down the walls. I was uncomfortable in the gallery space. This wish led me to put the self-portraits at the ends of the image and start filling in the blanks. How many meters would it take to completely fill the space...at least 17m. I stopped at 5m. 😂 Last photo is zoom in on a photo by Jean-Baptiste Béranger

These past months i have been thinking about image motif. Some poses/motifs are hard to read or recognise. They are hard to recognise because your body seldom finds itself in those siruations/not seen in art as much. I have called it taken by water. But sometimes also "orginal sin". It can be hung in different directions. So it sometimes looks like falling, floating, hanging
